An SRO is a Self Regulating Organization. Although this is not a trading term the industry has a number of SRO's such as the NASD, FINRA and the SEC.
The job of an SRO is to set rules and guidelines by which its participants must abide and to oversee its industry to regulate that the rules and guidelines are being followed.
