Sep. 11 Anniversary Observance - Minutes of Silence


Chicago Board of Trade
On Monday, September 11, 2006, in conjunction with other major markets, the CBOT open auction market will observe two separate one-minute periods of silence in memory of the victims of the events of September 11, 2001.

The minutes of silence will occur at 7:46 a.m. and 9:29 a.m. (Central Time). Bells will sound on the Exchange Floor to mark the beginning and end of each minute of silence.

The CBOT agricultural markets which normally open at 9:30 a.m. will open instead at 9:31 a.m. (Central Time). For agricultural futures that are traded side-by-side on the open auction and electronic (e-cbot) platforms, the 9:31 a.m. open will apply to both open auction and e-cbot trading.

Kansas Board of Trade

Kansas City--September 8, 2006--The Kansas City Board of Trade will be holding a minute of silence on Monday, September 11 in memory of the victims of the events that occurred on that date five years ago.

The minute of silence will occur at 9:29 a.m. CT, with the opening of both open outcry and electronic trading for the hard red winter wheat contract delayed until 9:31 a.m. CT.

The minute of silence is being held in a coordinated effort with other exchanges.

Minneapolis Grain Exchange

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX) will observe one-minute moments of silence at 7:46 a.m. and 9:29 a.m. (Central Standard Time) on Monday, September 11th in memory of the victims of the events that occurred on September 11, 2001.

Following the last moment of silence, the MGEX will delay the opening of its spring wheat futures market to 9:31 a.m. on both the open outcry and electronic trading platforms. The opening of the spring wheat options market will also be delayed and open at 9:31 a.m. The markets will close at their normal time.
